Today was the first day for us to teach. At the beginning, it was a little bit confusing to us and the students. The school had given us two classes instead of four. We had to wait for the school clean up two more rooms.
I am glad that we have a great team, an experience teacher, a young guy and a YOUNG LADY from CGC, me (just kidding). We set up the class in U-shape. We recognize the kids more easily. We taught for half day, then, we went back to hotel to eat. As I was sweating and did not know the timing for lunch, I went back to my room to take a shower. I expected somebody might call me. But, there was none. Everybody was waiting for me in the restaurant. Sorry all team members.
In the late afternoon, we went back to school and had games with the students. When we lined for each class, one of the student said to me “Leo Shi Hian Shui” (Teacher, you are cool.) We know each other better after the games.
One sad thing was that one girl was hurt during the game. Nhat asked me to look after her. We did not have any first aid kit. Merilyn had some tiny bandages. That’s only thing we had. Tomorrow, I have to bring some more things.
As we had to look after this girl, there was a chance for us, mainly Merilyn as I had to look after my class of which 2/3 were girls, to talk to her for more than half an hour. I encouraged this girl and her friends to talk to Merilyn in English in order to practice more.
During the evening, it was amazing that we saw a rainbow. It was very hot and sunny the whole day. There was no rain. I don’t know why there was a rainbow.
