20080803 Nhat - 8th day Hanging

Day 8 and it feels final because it will be done after tomorrow night’s presentation. Tuesday morning is to say bye to our students and we head off to Guiyang. It would be a full day tomorrow with the students preparing for their drama/song and the teachers doing their skits too.

Today’s was more of hanging with the students. My frustration with the students is over since I understand that it is their choice to learn or not. Like their choice of giving their heart to the Father or not. We taught them the story of David and Goliath with some help from Andy who enacted David while Jonathan did Goliath.

The class was motivated by gifts to be in the Monday night presentation. We found our four “song leaders” by offering them a souvenir from Canada which was a penny. Then the drama characters were drafted with the prospect of future gifts (magnetic bookmark, stuff animal, my used shirt, Canadian coins,..). George could not join us for teaching because he was having major upset stomach - ten times in the washroom. He needs the healing hand of the Father.

At night we had free time so I played Connect-5 and walked around the school ground. Some of students like to hang with me so they would be with me in whatever event. In getting my dinner to going to the washroom – show me the way to the WC. I showed them pictures and videos from my laptop about my family and church till 8:30 pm. They would not let me leave but wanted me to continue till 9 pm but I already went past the “allocated” time of 7 pm. I was escorted to the bus stop by five students and I felt loved. Three of the students were able to converse with me with the help of each other so we could make a decent conversation.

So late now because I am trying to make a slide-show with music but after an hour, I am doing a Powerpoint with Itune playing some of the songs we learned at this camp. Please keep me in your thoughts because I need all the energy I can muster for the last lag. Nhat ZZZZzzzz
