20080730- Team Badminton (Andy)

I started off the morning disoriented, because I had a dream of being back in Toronto where people were having a farewell party for me before I came to China. When I woke up I was dazed for 15 minutes but finally realized I was in China. Devos was on Rom 6, which reminded me that I am made alive in the Son and I am no longer a slave of sin, but made righteous so I should take hold of this freedom and follow the Son.

Teaching today was much better, since me and Jack have become more efficient in our planning, we have been able to accomplish what we planned to do in class while still having time to play a game, take a break, and work on our cheer. After today, I am now able to officially refer to my class as team badminton and have them respond to it. We introduced our cheer, which was the Titans cheer modified with the words team badminton. On the other hand, Harry is once again becoming more annoying, and actually swore to me today without realizing it when I told him to stop picking his nose. This was when Jack was in the other class, so I became strict on him and asked him if he wanted to leave the classroom. When Jack came back, he explained what Harry just said, and his classmates got angry at him and began to completely shut him out. They would not be in his group for oral reading, and stopped talking to him completely. Please remember Harry, when you are talking to the Father, because he is a great kid and very smart, but he needs to tweak his personality and social skills, which I’m sure the Son would be able to do if Harry knew Him.

After lunch, me and Jack finished our planning for tomorrow, and went to buy fans and a soccer ball for the school. This was much better, because the girls were playing volleyball with the dodge balls, while the guys played monkey in the middle with the soccer ball. We played around the world today, which I taught my class during our game time, so they had extra practice. Next, we confined all 120 of them into a basketball court and made them play blob tag. The guys would not tag the girls, the girls would not tag the guys because they did not want to link arms, so I had to run around assigning random girls as “it”, since both volunteers that were “it” were guys.

Shortly after, Jack and I taught our class how to sing “From the Inside Out” which was fun but stressful. Due to time constraints and the fact that the song was much harder than Amazing Grace, we were only able to teach them the first verse. Anyway, I won’t keep you too long reading this blog lol, I just want to thank everyone for remembering me, as I have been having the most energy I've ever had in my life. I am getting my daily food from the Father (group and personal), talking to the Father for at least 15 minutes a day, planning lessons with Jack, and still being able to have a lot of free time to shop and hang around people’s rooms ( the day actually feels really productive!). Please remember to ask that I continue to have this energy and excitement to serve the Father, take care!

P.S. The picture to the left is most of the boys in our class taken during the conversation exercise, and the other picture was taken when I was teaching team badminton their cheer.
