20080730 Shirley 4th Day

Today is the fourth day of the English Camp. The students had more participation. In the second day, when Steve greeted with them, it seemed that they did not know how to react. Today, it was a lot better. Some students were willing to ask questions when we opened to the floor. And, they talked to Steve and Nathanial in the break/leisure time. Later in the evening, some of the girls in my class told me that they never had English conversation (one to one) before we came. I encouraged them to take the chance to practice English conversation.

For the game time, on the second day, it rained shortly after we started the game. We went back to the classroom to have movies. But, it was so hot that we were all sweating. Yesterday, we set up the movie on the playground and had the student to bring the chairs down. It was not an easy task to do so. We had to get power from 2nd floor to ground floor. We had to find space to hang the screen and set up table for the laptop and the projector. Today, it was the first time that I played with the student. As I am not a game person, I did not play the games with them in the last few days. I had no choice today as the boys did not want to hold hands with the girls when we played the game “Around the world”. I had to be the middle person between the girls and the boys.
