The name says it all. Although the first two days were much easier, today one of my best students, Harry (kind of reminds me of Regan…personality and looks they are the exact same >_<), went off the hook. Not only was he extremely loud, but he started annoying me by picking his nose constantly and asking dumb questions. He even annoyed Jack, who is always really composed and unshakeable. The kids were also not as focused today, because the weather was very humid and Jack suggested buying fans for each class. Although I was under stress, I laughed it off, because I knew in the end, it’s the Father testing my patience for these kids and preparing me to love them.
The afternoon went by really slowly, and I ended up planning with Jack our lesson for tomorrow and chilling in Nathaniel’s room for the rest of the time. We got back to the school a bit after 4:30 and got the games to play a number game. This got me really frustrated because they did not understand some of the instructions and for the ones that they did, they did not give an effort to follow it. As a result, I got kind of angry and started yelling at people. I’m sorry team members (whoever I yelled at); I was too caught up in the heat of the moment and just reacted impulsively. However, Nhat was able to find a solution to adjust the game for the kids and still make it work. Therefore, I was thankful that although I am suppose to be the GM (Game Master) G has provided me with a wonderful team that can back me up. After the game, we had dinner at the school followed by some free time.
During the free time, Jack and I decided to teach the kids how to sing Amazing Grace, which was the highlight of today. They learned it within 10 minutes even with my awful singing, and as we were singing through it I really felt G’s presence in that room. Although in the past, whenever I hear Amazing Grace it reminds me of the memorial service we had for a friend I lost at school and became sad. Luckily G has given me this moment to reminisce when I hear this song from now on. Shortly after, we watched Narnia (1st movie) which did not work well at first because we projected it onto a screen outdoor and it was still bright, so for the first third of the movie, the kids were all being distracted and talked loudly to one another. We arrived back to the hotel in time to find out that they were fixing the sewage system so everything smelled so bad, and even the elevator had a faint smell of the washroom. I went on msn for a short to talk to Andrea and Frank. It’s been great to know you guys have been reading my blog and p…ying for me. We went out for a late dinner after, and dropped in at a fake KFC, where the chicken tasted horrible and the drinks were tiny! The popcorn chicken was even worse than McDonalds Nuggets yuck. Anyway, I’m done my devos and it’s about time I sleep, since I am waking up in 6.5 hours. Take care and thank you for reading our blog!
P.S. I forgot to post this picture lol, it was when my class was playing the name game from TC when you run around and hit people with a paper stick, while whoever is called on must call another name.
