20080726 Nhat - Leadership

Nhat’s here and very sleepy. Will make this short since you can read about our adventure through many perspective’s eyes. Therefore you see many views like the NT story about JC in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Of course you don’t see all the details or understand fully our stories but it is much better than one person’s rant (me).

Today, what impacted me the most is that the leadership of the team falls mostly on me since Phil is not joining us. I found this out last week and was in denial till I came here because he has always been with me in the past three years at all multiple locations. Sad he is not here but not sad that we will pick up the leadership because we have an awesome team. Everyone think I am leading but really, it is a team movement because the strengths of each member easily lend themselves towards the different need of the team. Andy got the games and jokes. Jack and Albert got the songs because they both can play the guitar. Albert, Jack, and Shirley got the translation for any events. Stephen and Merilyn have the mature look on how the camp can be run effectively since they are fresh off two weeks of the same teaching camp in Guangxi. Nat and Jon lend the English strength since they know more English than me – corrected my enunciation of “social” and found out some people can not say “schedule”. Alfred and Alsie might not be on the teaching team but without them, we would not have the connections to come to teach because they coordinated all our schedule (food, lodging, transport) and the approval from the local authorities and school board. Many questions lay ahead but as a “FAT” team, we will serve our best and let G do the rest.

6:30 Up
7:00 Team Devo
7:30 Breakfast
8:10 Leave for school on taxi
8:30 Morning assembly together with all the students
9:40 Conversational English class
11:30 End morning session
12:00 Lunch with team and outside of the school
12:45 Whole team meeting
1:15 Free time
4:00 Games / Craft
5:30 Dinner at school with the students
6:30 Movie, Discussion, Catch-up, (Nemo, J Film, Narnia I,..)
8:30 End, return to hotel, free time or planning for next day
