20080724 Nhat - Parent's entrusted me with their child.doc

We are now safe in Guiyang. All checked in and the team of 8 is together (Above five plus Albert, Shirley and George). Tomorrow we will meet the rest of the team.

Starting Wednesday night, one teen after another was entrusted to me. Wednesday night, Nathaniel’s parents drop him off my condo so he can TTC with me to the airport on Thursday. Thursday morning at Kipling, we “accidentally” saw Jack with his Mom waiting for the airport express bus – o accident in God’s eyes. Jack was left in my care as the mom feel safe that he is now with the team. At the airport, Jonathan’s mom dropped him off and went her after a few parting words. Andy was escorted by his mom, aunt and twin sisters. It was very touching to see such a huge send out.

In CGC ministry, I teach teens on Friday and Sunday but never gave a thought about this responsibility as something different. After seeing the heart of each parents for their child, I come to a realization of how much they entrusted me with. The teens might not know how hard it is for the parents to let “go” but I understand abit more because I saw four set of parents saying bye to their child in their own special ways. I wish I had people sending me off too but God gave me something more special, He gave me a wonder team to be with me for the whole mission trip. We laugh a lot together and everyone is energized to serve God in China. With a huge support from family and friends, we know we are enveloped by the prayers of the saints.

I continue to thank God for opening the hearts of all the donors to our trip for it has blessed the team with a blessed assurance of God’s provision before we leave. With that, we know that more awesome adventure awaits us. Nhat on the plane.
