I missed my blogging yesterday, because I was really tired and Nhat was using the computer until very late so I did not want to wait it out. Yesterday was quite an interesting day, I had the energy to wake up and do devos in the morning again and the kids were super cooperative. Later on in the afternoon, I met a university student named Ron whom Jonathan and Nathaniel met during their random ripstick sessions. Within half an hour, I learned how to move on a ripstick…I guess the next step is to learn how to turn and then stop. The evening session at school was just a chilling night, I showed the kids pictures of me and my friends, so they got to know a little about my life and how Toronto looks like. I got back to my room and passed out after taking a shower.
Today:
Today was such an awesome day. Devos reminded me that not everyone’s heart is meant to be given to G, therefore by doing our very best to witness, we are at least giving them an opportunity and planting seeds, while G will provide reapers to sow our fruit. We got through all the material in class as we have planned and had extra time to practice the songs we are presenting to the school and our cheer due to the fact that there was no multi media presentation today. The afternoon was hectic, as we had to do some last minute planning to get ready for the presentations tonight and buy things for the party tomorrow. We even had time for another ripstick session, today I learned how to turn and move better on the board. Unfortunately, it rained and we had to delay the presentations for tomorrow, so instead we followed through with a plan of just having the party today. I brought my iPod and plugged it with Stephen’s speakers to play pleasing music to G, and mandarin songs. I helped lead the balloon game (which I call 300 because it’s as intense as Spartans battling) in Stephen’s room and then led my own class.
Team Badminton played with the balloons when I asked them not to and popped a lot of them while hitting each other with it. We almost didn’t have enough balloons for my game, in the end G provided and we were ready to start the game. Shortly after, my kids surprised Jack and I by making dumplings, which I sort of suspected, since they asked me what type of vegetables I don’t like (huge list btw) and if I liked dumplings. We were able to have an enjoyable time playing 300 even though halfway through the game; all the kids were ganging up on the teachers (aka me, Jack, Nathaniel, and Jonathan). Muahahah I survived the longest cause I’m so uber =). After all the craziness, the kids calmed down and sang us songs.
First, the girls began singing a really beautiful song for us which made them cry. Next, the guys started singing not as well as the girls and made funny actions that cracked me and Jack up (we recorded it) and one of my favorite kids, Will, began to tear up as well. Next thing I knew, pretty much my whole class was crying before my eyes, and I felt really sad, because I knew I was going to miss these kids. G has really given me a heart for these kids as I have asked for, and right now I wish I could have more time to spend with them and even watch them grow up. I can truly say that, these kids love us, and I love them as well.
I hope I will cross paths with some of them in the future again, as a lot of them asked for my address and asked me to return to their school during December, since they graduate in January from junior high school. They also gave us two gifts, a Miao woman doll, and a chicken looking flute. After a series of songs that they sang from my iPod, Jack and I sang “Tears in Heaven” and “Beautiful One”, and then all of us sang “From the Inside Out” one last time before their presentation tomorrow. One of the most random moments was one of the athletic kids, Carl, broke a watermelon with his hand and took off, while most of the other boys ran after him. Anyhow, we all left the school silent, because all of us knew we were going to miss these kids and we all talked about how our kids cried. We saw my kids Harry and Sunny at the bus stop and talked to them for a while before our bus came.
George is feeling much better today, thanks to you remembering, but it seems Nathaniel is getting sick (read his blog) so please remember him and the rest of our team. I can’t believe that we only have half a day left with these kids, and I may never see them again. After coming back to the hotel, I grabbed my laundry and said good bye to the nice laundry lady. Please remember her and request that she’ll find the Son. I was p..ying the whole way back to the hotel for all the possible scenarios of her life, whether she knows the Son and drifted, or she doesn’t know, or she has heard but doesn’t care, etc. After finishing my devos and waiting for Nhat half an hour in the hotel, I finally have a computer to blog with, thanks for remembering us and take care everyone!

P.S. The picture to the left was taken yesterday, while the other one was a class photo taken today.
